Winner of Ironman New Zealand 2013 - Meredith Kessler

It's not just racing...it's a livestyle

Triathlon means to me more than just a few races during the main season. I am greatfull for being a part of this and I think that giving back to the triathlon community is something what every triathlete should do. To have a look behind the scene might sometimes help to more appreciate organizer's effort because to build a triathlon race is more to do than just draw a course map and build a registration tent. Plus being outdoors with family and friends is no less enjoyable than racing itself when you have so many nice people around.

For me was the most memorable non-racing day the 2nd March 2013 when I was volunteering on the Special Needs Station on the run course of Ironman New Zealand. To watch all those people and be there to help them to go through their big day felt great.

When I have got the time or I can change my plans to make a time I go and volunteer, because it's a good fun...Ironman NZ, Kinloch OTU Oceania Championship, National Duathlon Championships, Tri-Sport Taupo club races)

I was honoured to be member of Tri-Sport Taupo club committee for season 2013/2014.

And one more thing: DO NOT LITTER!!!
